SONGS COVERS

Hello everyone! Today I'm here to talk about covers, specifically about music covers. When I was younger and I used to listen the typical music that sounded in the radio and I didn't care too much about this topic, but nowadays I start appreciating all the work of all the song interpreters. A lot of people have a different point of view and think that all what interpreters have to do is get a song, change few musical notes and then say that it is his version. I actually thought that when I was little, now I'd like go back in time and say to myself: Oh boooy, you are so wrong! There are a lot of things that can be changed in a song instead of the notes:

The musical gender: This is a type of cover that most of musical groups specialized with versions are used to do. They take a famous pieces and change his style, for example, they transform the Für Elise of Bethoven from a classical of the classical music to a heavy metal version that punks can appreciate. This example is quite radical but it works like this.

The interprets can add an improvisation to the song: This is mostly common in songs that include an electric guitar (The default solo instrument). People thinks in his solo and include it in his favorite song, sometimes it sounds so weird but there are cases where the theme sounds better than the original!

The structure: If you are good with an instrument and you know exactly the music piece you want to cover it is easy to make it sound different adding pauses, changes of tone and volume ...

Another fact I used to criticize was that the performed songs were taken from artist that maybe got mad at seeing his piece badly interpreted by a musical rookie. But now the only consequence that I see is that all the interpreters are helping to popularize the original song that they interpret. That is really helpful to little artists that maybe are really good but there are no influential enough to be on a radio. This is probably the one I appreciate the most because I'm really fussy listening to music and nowadays I've never listened the kind of songs I like on the radio... But seeing that some people is doing covers about the groups I like is really comfortable, you are happy to notice you are not the only fan.

Covers are also interesting to remind unique songs that weren't actually real songs, I am refering to movies and videogames soundtracks. There covers are the ones that left me without breath, listen to an instrumental version of a 8-bit song that was one 100% artificial. Without doubt, my favorite is a metal cover of the introduction of a game called Thunder Force IV, it is simply awesome:

There is also one more thing that I like about some covers, you can watch the interpreters to play, and it gives a point of realism to the cover, because some of them are made by computer, and they are not less good for that, but meh, isn't the same. If you are learning that song or interested in learning it, maybe it can serve as a tutorial on how to put the fingers and how to play every note with precision.

I think I got nothing else to explain right now so I'll show you one of the most lovely guitar covers I've seen about my favorite music band, Demetory. The best part is located between the minute 3:25 to the 4:10, there are 45 seconds of full pleasure to me so enjoy it !
